TransformNolaToday.com is a digital online
magazine* dedicated to the people of New Orleans. Our mission is to provide
insights and information to improve the quality of life in our community and highlight those engaged in these
activities. Each of us can make a difference in bringing our city from a recovery mentality to one of mindful
transformation.
TransformNolaToday.com will honor the citizens, government leaders, business and civic leaders,
nonprofits, and philanthropists who have been tirelessly working together to ensure that the city that we love
emerges from the devastation of the past years. The resilience of New Orleanians can set the example for all of
America and the World.
Research by Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program & Greater New Orleans Community Data
Center has shown that “…higher numbers of New Orleanians are participating in public meetings and processes, and are now more likely than
residents of other cities to attend public meetings where city affairs are discussed. Neighborhood and
grassroots organizations have demonstrated increasing organizational capacity and autonomy, such as the rise in
nonprofit housing advocates and developers. Individuals and groups have become more strategic and sophisticated.
And there is greater cooperation between groups and individuals...”
Now is the time to document these triumphs, connect with others, and publish a focused monthly
resource of information for all to share.
This is my goal for
